Beauty secrets everyone should know. Tips from celebrity make-up artists

We learn a lot of make-up lessons throughout our lives from our friends, Youtube, mom, IG, the list can go on. We have to admit that there is no such thing as too many beauty secrets and therefore we turned to some of the best make-up artists in the world to find out which steps we have to include in our routines. Find out what they had to say below!

#1: Do you want to get a natural lash look?

There’s nothing simpler, says the ultimate make-up star, Pat McGrath. Just apply black mascara on the roots and a brown one on the tips (SILFR Brown Mascara, 19 $). This way, you will beautifully frame your eyes and they will look more expressive (go to the full article).

#2: That perfect blush shade

Another well-known celebrity artist, Bobbi Brown, says that it’s easy to be overwhelmed by all of the shades of blush at beauty counters. If you have porcelain skin, opt for a pale, pastel pink shade (IDUN Minerals Blush ‘Tranbär’). Medium skin tones can go with a tawnier pink or peach (IDUN Minerals Blush ‘Havtorn’ or ‘Smultron’). Deeper skin tones will look great in plum and cranberry (IDUN Minerals Blush ‘Hallon’).

#3: Lash lift without eyelash curler

Bobbi Brown also suggests that, if you don’t have an eyelash curler, you can still get a bright-eyed look just by using your finger. Apply your mascara as you normally do, then use your index finger to push your lashes upward. Hold for a moment and release. Let your lashes air out, and they will stay curled (go to the full article).

#4: Concealer as an eyeshadow

Kim Kardashian’s make-up artist, Mario Dedivanovic, suggests to use concealer and pressed powder as an eyeshadow primer. There are plenty of amazing eyeshadow primers in the beauty aisle, but Dedivanovic prefers to use an old-school trick to keep makeup from sliding.

#5: Reverse contour

For deeper skin tones, Mario skips the dark powder altogether and selects a lighter shade of foundation to reverse contour. For this technique, he applies a highlighting color on the jaw underneath where the normal contour would go to get a similar effect (go to the full article).

#6: The secret to Kim Kardashian West’s airbrushed-looking complexion?

Heavy concealer use, apparently. Dedivanovic swipes a peach-toned concealer (our suggestion IDUN Minerals Perfect Under Eye Concealer) with a heavy hand in key areas on his client’s face. “I blend it out with a sponge (our suggestion IDUN Minerals Make-up Sponge) and it looks good in photos and polishes the face,” he says.
